As ASG Futbol Club
Dallas enters its third year the club continues to grow at an
astounding rate.
ASG started with
six teams in June 2004, grew to 15 teams by June 2005 and is
expecting even larger growth this summer. As ASG continues to add
teams, Director of Coaching Dave Dir understands the need to expand
ASG's staff.
"As an organization
ASG is committed to bringing in top coaches to accent any growth to
maintain the quality we have become known for in our very short
existence," Coach Dir said.
To manage the
growth ASG has hired Dave Kunitz as Assistant Director of Coaching
and Director of Academies. Kunitz will be responsible for
overseeing the Academy programs and communicating with staff.
"I'm excited to
come to Dallas and be part of a club where I can have a positive
impact," Coach Kunitz said. "I had a great conversation with Coach
Dir and believe in his philosophy on what club soccer should be
about."
Coach Kunitz comes
to ASG after six successful years at Edmond Soccer Club, one of
Oklahoma's most well respected youth clubs.
"Coach Kunitz is
another example of the type of leadership you can expect at ASG,"
Coach Dir said." He will continue to improve our curriculum and
quality at the academy level. He has great energy and experience
and will be a great asset in our goal of making ASG Dallas FC one
of the top futbol clubs in the nation."
Kunitz was born in
Canada and played for the University of Science and Arts in
Oklahoma in 1998. From 2000-2002, Kunitz played with the Oklahoma
City Hatters before joining the Tulsa Roughnecks from 2002-2004.
He was hired as the
USAO assistant coach in 1999 and coached the Chickasaw High School
Boy's team since 2002. Recently, he coached the ESC '92 Boys Black,
'89 Girls Black and '95 Girls Black.
"I'm excited
because of the sheer quality of players Dallas has to offer and the
high percentage of talent in the area," Coach Kunitz said. "I can't
wait to get started."
