ASG 95 Girls Beat the Heat Champions

The ASG 95G Gold West team rolled into Edmond on August 20th for the Beat the Heat Tournament, ready to strut their stuff on the Oklahoma stage.

Their first match up was Saturday morning against South Lakes Cosmos from Oklahoma. The girls demonstrated their keen passing skills with KK, Beth, Shelby and Lauren finding the back of the net while the defense continued their shut down style of play.

Later that day, they played a very good North OKC OFC team. A hard fought game with several opportunities in 100+ temps and came away with a 1-1 tie, with Emily scoring the lone goal in the game.

Sunday morning brought the biggest challenge of the tournament. The defense played strong and fought off several threats late in the game against a very talented and skilled KC Select Viati team from Missouri. In goal, Lizzy made several outstanding stops during the game which ended in a 0-0 tie.

Finally, the team then finished the tournament with a pedal to the metal performance from both the offense and defense against Prodigy Extreme from KS. Shelby and Lauren both scoring 2 goals each, and Bronwyn with one goal. The defense dominated play and had a lone goal scored late in the game, bringing the final score to 5-1.

Way to go ASG Gold West on a terrific performance and for bringing home the first place hardware!
